Fellowships
Applying for Fellowships
To ensure the highest quality proposal is submitted, the Department requires an expression of interest (EOI) in advance of the funder deadline (typically 2 months for post-doctoral level fellowships and 3 months for independent research fellowships). Faculty support/sponsorship is essential and should be obtained in advance of submitting the EOI, which consists of:
- Research proposal overview (1 page).
- C.V. (2 pages) plus a publication list.
Check out the upcoming funding deadlines in the funding opportunities document below.

If you are looking for information on our research projects at postgraduate level, please see our Graduate Admissions and Projects pages.
Post-doctoral level fellowships: For those about to complete the PhD or with a few years of post-doctoral experience. They offer a salary and some research expenses. They are a first step to independent research, working on your own research project with the support of an academic sponsor.
Submit your PDRA fellowship EOI here.
Independent research fellowships: For those with more significant post-doctoral experience. They offer a salary, research expenses and may enable funding of other researchers. The aim is development of your independent research vision and profile, and research group.
Submit your independent research fellowship EOI here.
