The Department of Earth Sciences welcomes prospective students to engage with our outreach activities. Our hope is that the events and programmes we offer can give you a taste of what it is like to study Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford, and to inspire you in your exploration of our subject. We actively encourage and support students from backgrounds which are currently underrepresented in the geosciences to take part.

UNIQ is a free programme for Year 12 students with good grades from backgrounds that are under-represented at Oxford and other universities. Earth Sciences hosts around 30 students each year during the residential part of the UNIQ programme.
The University holds three undergraduate Open Days per year - two in July, and one in September. These Open Days allow you to see the Department in action and give you the opportunity talk to staff, students, and other visitors.

Opportunity Oxford is an academic programme that helps to support talented UK offer holders from under-represented backgrounds in the transition to university. Earth Sciences is proud to support OppOx students every year when they arrive in Oxford.
The MPLS Division Bridging Programme helps new students to make the transition from studying at school to studying at Oxford. Earth Sciences students can take part in both the online and residential elements of the Bridging Programme.
UNIQ+ Research Internships are aimed at talented undergraduates from under-represented groups, who would find continuing into postgraduate study a challenge for reasons other than their academic ability.
